Underneath the Lantern is mistitled, some of Vera Lynn's best songs are onthis page.
This page has some of vera lynn's best and most famous songs, but all the other Vera Lynn songs here on the Internet Archive are excellent as well.My favorite songs sung by Vera Lynn are Lili Marlene,The White Cliffs of Dover,This is the Army,It's a Nice Day Tomorrow, and Jerusalem.(Note: the song labeled on this page as "Underneath the Lantern"is mistitled,it's actual title is "Lili Marlene".Lili Marlene is one of the best and most-loved songs of World War II,it was sung by,and was the unnofficial anthem of both the Allied and Nazi forces.Excellent versions of "Lili Marlene"are also available on the Internet Archive sung by Lale Anderson(the first to sing the song),and Marlene Dietrich(now the most famous person to sing "Lili Marlene"). "Lili Marlene"sung by Vera Lynn is also listed under its rightful name in pages 51-60 of the Vera Lynn collection here on the Internet Archive.
